I stopped being the target audience for shit like this about 20 years ago and still somehow found it pleasantly bearable, so I guess that's something. And while I admit, more than one time I caught myself chuckling at some witty quip or meta reference, each time that happened, it was if I could feel the mirthful eyes of the self-satisfied filmmakers staring out from behind the celluloid, daring me to tell them that wasn't the wittiest quip and/or meta-i-est reference I'd heard all morning.

In a town where humans, vampires and zombies co-exist in some kind of uneasy truce, all hell breaks loose when aliens invade. It's dumb but at least it doesn't try to take itself seriously at all, and actually has a couple of funny bits. Annoyingly doesn't make any attempt to explain its ridiculous set up, but at least the vampire girl is reasonably cute, and the nonsense all moves along at a decent clip.

Freaks of Nature is a mediocre, juvenile highschool comedy that over-relies on stereotypes and doesn't add much to the genre. There are a few good laughs along the way and it is, at least, consistently watchable throughout.

Funny parody, full of references, and surprisely good as teen-drama/comedy also. Trashy as premise but not as result. Predictable but well-crafted. A good surprise.

It's exactly what it says on the label, but it doesn't pretend that it's anything more either so that's ok. Switch of your chips for an hour and have some brains watching this easygoing highschool-zombie-vampire comedy

It puts in an effort but it's too packed full of non-ironic cliches and the jokes fall flat, and of course talking quickly is not in and of itself funny

Quasi horror-comedy hybrid, featuring an interesting enough premise. There were one or two laugh out loud moments, and the makeup/effects were solid. The outcomes are predictable, but the leads make it work. Isn't Mackenzie Davis a tall drink of milk! God, I'd love to climb her.

The idea of a teen zombie/vampire/alien invasion comedy does cause worry because of the potential mess it can be, but Freaks of Nature (2015) was surprisingly well executed. They actually made an effort with the characters and didn't go overboard when going overboard!

I'm sure most will hate this. I thought this horror-comedy was freaking hilarious. My opinion here : http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.be/2016/08/freaks-of-nature-2015.html
