Frisco Kid

Standard Cagney flick.

Cagney's style made this a watchable action adventure with a romantic twist.

Another mediocre Lloyd Bacon/James Cagney WB pic. Cagney seems a little off-step here, as does the beautiful but boring Margaret Lindsay. Low production values hamper this costume picture to a decent score, but the flick is definitely worth a watch for Cagney fans.

A James Cagney picture. I did like the cinematic portion of Frisco Kid. Nice olden days costumes and settings. But the story doesn't come together well enough for my liking. There was a lot of elements that could have worked, but too many angles to the story and interfering characters made sure there wasn't enough focus on getting deeper into the stuff that was going on and it ended up becoming a mess.
