I hate to admit that I even watched this movie, but it was one that I got expressly to make fun of, really. But, it wasn't really even that laughable--just bland and annoying.

A list of things that are better than this movie: getting bit by a rattlesnake, having a kidney stone the size of an egg, living the life of Oedipus, getting a catheter, picking up your dog's crap, M. Night Shyamalan movies (barely), Vanilla Ice.

High School Musical had douchy, annoying teenagers, this movie has douchy, annoying adolescents. Made it more fun for myself and fast-forwarded the singing parts so they sounded like chipmunks, which made them look even more stupid. So unbelievably embarrassing

It's unbelievable how many untalented people are in this movie.

Why the fuck did I watch this? What the hell was I expecting?

This movie is so awful it is hilarious. I am not a big fan of musicals but when these two break into song in mid sentence it sort of just makes them seem insane, and of course, whoever made this, clearly is.

Only see this movie if you are an American Idol fan. It is really that bad. I've never missed an episode of Idol, and I was curious, so I bought it in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart. Good god is it horrible. Kelly is so ugly at certain points in the movie, that you just want to puke.

Holy shit, it’s a musical? LOL. Featherweight, featherbrained cultural artefact is a bizarre throwback to the spirit of the 60s BEACH PARTY movies; as a member of the youth culture circa 2003, I'm pretty sure we weren't clamouring for that sort of throwback (and it's interesting to contrast this with the similar, more raunchy THE REAL CANCUN also from 2003), but as silly, soapy teen escapades it's passable; Clarkson and Guarini share little personal chemistry, but acquit themselves reasonably.

I wish I could remember my score for Shutter off the top of my head. This is worse than that which is quite an accomplishment really. Ah, I'll just give it a 2 to be on the safe side.

There sure are a lot of suckers out there in order for such a 'movie' to get made. Maybe watch on mute, probably not even that.

Come for the laughs, stay for the laughs, watch again for the laughs.

The herd opinion of this movie is unjustified. Of course, it is extremely light and silly, contains some inferior acting, is directed at a juvenile audience and driven by commercial imperatives. But some of the numbers and choreography are better than reviews indicate, and there is some genuine talent on display. Far worse films abound.

FUCK THIS SHIT!!!!!! i hate american idol so much and this is a trillion times worse! i only saw this movie to see how TERRIBLE it would be. it definitely lived up to my expectations, which is an understatement. kelly clarkson can't act for her her life and justin guarini......omg! second worst movie ever! (i won't say what the worst is......)

Hilariously bad!

If Kelly wasn't so gosh darn hot i would have never ever ever ever, seen this movie, ever.

Arguably one of the worst films of the modern era. The plot was contrived, tissue-thin, and hackneyed, the dialogue was wooden and sounded like it was written by an 8-year-old, and the musical numbers... bizarre. Watching this is sort of like watching a train wreck.

harmless but tepid throwback to goofy 50's musicals

A mindless, tedious waste of film that left me in an emotionally void state once it had ended. This is the sort of film that should be prescribed by psychiatrists who have to deal people who have had a massively traumatic event. Put the film on, and they will feel nothing afterwards.
