My favorite part is when one of them is contemplating jumping but gets scared and is holding on and the girl starts to sing a beautiful rendition of "Let it Go." I like movies where people are stuck, except for the movie Stuck. Anyways, I enjoy when a screenplay writes itself into a corner and then has to get creative to get out. And by "get creative," of course I mean "choosing the dumbest option humanly possible."

Unlike what many 'professional/paid' critics have stated, this movie is pretty damn solid. Well developed characters, good acting, adequate direction and a terrifying plot. The film itself came overall as very 'real', with real people, with real conversations and the possibility to actually happen. People who expect Hollywood-esque effects and an over the top plot better stay away, for this movie is considerably more low key, yet -very- effective.

The idea held great promise and horror. With the right writing and execution this could have been a gem. The introduction of the characters works just fine, with Ashmore being the most likeable. Pretty quickly, though, it's very hard not to start loathing their stupidity. Even this might be forgiven, written off as shock. The problem is, their reactions to the truly scary situation don't ring true which is, of course, a death blow to a movie like this. The score is poor, too.

I liked the concept But the dialog and annoying characters didn't hold my interest and frankly it's not necessary to spend approximately five minutes watching a girl piss herself

Barely earning a theatrical release, horror fans owe it to themselves to check out a plausible and original premise within the genre, and one of the best horror offerings I have seen in quite some time. It is an emotionally-wringing, psychologically-exhausting experience. Green manages to keep the story focused and in-the-moment. I was completely engulfed and left clutching my fingers together in suspense and shock as the predicament continues on a never-ending spiral of bad to worse.

Adam Green is establishing himself as one of the more competent suspense/horror directors to emerge these past few years. Frozen is pretty good, akin to Open Water in the type of horror its portraying, and all around it's produced in an above-average fashion. I'm not recommending it to win any awards, but I am recommending that if you like plausible horror stories to check it out.

I'm not usually one to nitpick, but never before could so much have been solved so fast with a clothes-rope. The characters consistently, uniformly make the worst possible decisions right up to the bitter end. Instead of reasoning through his own plot, the director chose to revel in cheap close-ups of human misery. Bravo.

I feel bad having to give out so many tips on how the best way to watch Frozen, and that likely means it isn't a great film, but overall, it was a solid watch. I didn't mind watching most of it, only that one segment in the middle. The majority, if you don't look to far into it, is tense, sometimes crossing into the path of horrifying. It's more psychological than anything else, and allows you to question what you'd do in the characters' situation. It's mostly fun, but also quite forgettable.

So they decide to go down the friggin' ladder AFTER one of them jumps to his doom and the surviving two freeze their hands, that is some self preservation instinct. Perhaps, if the main antagonist wasn't a pack of wolves that clearly wouldn't attack three humans in a row, but rather a man in a mask with a kitchen knife attempting to leap forty feet in the air, then this movie would have been entertaining.

So three incredibly unlikable college students get caught on a ski lift and make multiple dumb decisions that result in one of them dying. As he is eaten by wolves, I am just left thinking that this is just going to be one of those really cringeworthy thrillers where everything is completely overplayed and over the top. And guess what, I was totally right. Frozen does have some generally disturbing scenes but otherwise it is just downright horrible. Also, wolves do not act that way, Adam Green.

The gimmick here is that 3 morons are stuck on a ski lift chair based on a set of circumstances in which they all share some responsibility. Instead of considering plausible options (braid cloth strips to rope climb/drop, duh) they argue and cry about it for hours. Then one of them decides to do something really dumb and drastic which sets up the drama. This could have been alright with better writing. The acting was tv drama weak but not too terrible. The wolves really are retarded.

Surprisingly effective little thriller. Despite being a concept movie that immediately writes itself into a corner, it overcomes the restriction thanks to good pacing and decent dialogue/performances. The feeling of being frozen is conveyed very well, as the pacing slows right down and music and cinematography is employed well. The gore elements were somewhat overcooked. And it does have the mandatory dumb plot hole which will have you shouting at the screen. "Swing your legs up, you fool!"

Absolutely absurd. I cringed my way through the entire film although to be fair I watched this without knowing what it was about and the first thirty minutes had me expecting some generic comedy / drama. Oh how I was wrong. The film has a very basic plot, is a generic horror, features *absurd* events (one in particular) that are totally implausible as so much of the horror genre tends to be and has ingrained a permanent fear of sky-lifts deep into my soul. Characters were okay at best.

I just adore the "fucked-up situation" sub-genre; and though this one did have some pretty far fetched and obvious plotholes, it is still a damned entertaining watch. The contrast between the terrible modern rock showing the three's happy times with the movies fantastic score(very reminiscent of Oldboy) showing their plight, was a pretty nice twist.

Best described as a horror film that literally has nowhere to go, Frozen takes the "stuck in a ski lift" gimmick to the limits of plausibility and exhausts a premise that seemed in no way deserving a full length film. The concept isn't terrible and is in many ways begging for some Hitchcockian suspense or intrigue, but instead we get ravenous wolves.

I liked the idea and it had some quite chilling scenes, but also has some of the most brainless decisions ever made in a horror movie and also the behaviour of the wolves was just far too lulsy for words. I liked the acting and the overall mood and some of the scenes were suspenseful enough, but these things were not enough to save the movie, as you are still left completely baffled by the stupidity of the characters.

This is a really difficult movie to rate .. daft lupine interest, some hammy and some decent acting, some rubbish, and some good script writing which made the bickering and arguments pretty realistic, a daft premise but "possible" ... and all in all the 90 minutes sails by in a really enjoyable fashion. Sure, it is "Open Frozen Water" but it never tries to be more, or have delusions of grandeur. A Plucky performance from Emma Bell too .... couldnt have been a very pleasant experience for her !

Three supremely annoying college kids are dumb enough to sneak onto a ski lift at night, and now they're trapped on a bench 10 metres up, night is falling, and it's 20 below. Oh, and the ski resort just closed for five days, too. Not really a bad idea, but poorly executed (if I'd realised the director also made the piss-poor Hatchet, I probably wouldn't have bothered).

I found the film a very interesting scenario and then it was it. I felt like the director ran out of ideas and just did away with each character one by one. the film for sure does not bode well for Adam Green's future as a director. There has to be nonlinear storytelling to color the picture better when the characters are shoehorned to such a small environment or the director had to have really spent time with the thinking hat on. Undoubtedly deplorable work.

i get the "its got a bunch of pretty teens so i dont like it" crowd. i become extremely judgmental once i see those signs as well, but you will come to find, for that type of "dumb teen stereotype" horror, it is one of the much more entertaining ones by far. if you just take a moment to think about it, there is a lot dumber than this out there, and this was actually pretty entertaining.

The premise alone should invoke laughter to anyone who views this movie. Not only is the premise highly illogical, the characters completely unrealistic and the acting really bad, it's not the least bit scary or tense. The whole movie is full of laughable padding because the premise itself is so weak that it can't function without it. This film is a good example of how a crappy premise can make the overall film really shitty and hard to work with.

Contrived (yes) and silly (yes), but be damned if Green doesn’t take this overly familiar claustro-terror premise and play it for all it's worth. Occasional lags in the pacing, and lead characters who are not especially likable, are minor demerits once the near unbearably oppressive terror set pieces start (not to mention the grotesque body horror). Performed about as well as this inherently dumb material allows, with Ashmore and Bell softening to acceptably ingratiating as things wear on.
