Galaxis

This horrible sci fi action flick has a couple of humanoid aliens doing battle through modern day L.A. for possession of an all-powerful cosmic crystal that had been put on Earth in the prehistoric past for safe keeping. It's 90 embarrassing minutes of goofy space costumes, wooden acting, and corny lightning effects...but at least I can finally cross "Watch Richard Moll and Brigitte Nielsen fight to the death" off my to-do list.

Brigitte Nielsen is no Arnold Schwarzenegger but she's thrown into a Terminatoresque role nonetheless. Richard Moll is an appropriately hammy villain and it's cute to watch Sam Raimi pretend to be an actor. The only reason to watch this though is a scene that you can find online (try the aka title: Terminal Force) where a small boy transforms into an adult size cyborg.

Nielsen, in leather & latex adds points for me. This might have reached cult status (not for bizarreness, but for doing all its 80s scifi/action cliches well on a budget) if it got rid of a few things esp the whole prelude. We don't need to see the future reality: it only makes Nielsen's powers inconsistent; we'd lose the awful child robot efx; & Nielsen's inability to play distraught wouldn't be noticed. She's fine as hardened hero & most of the actors here are good esp the scenery chewing cop
