Tired of the dangerous life as gambling boss, Ace Corbin retires from the racket and travels cross-country by train to begin a new life with a new name. On the train, he meets Eleanor and they fall in love. Eleanor is afraid to tell Ace she's a soiled dove and Ace doesn't tell Eleanor of his shady past. Old enemies won't let Ace begin his new life, and old commitments won't free Eleanor of her sordid ties. Ace's old life and Eleanor's deception collide with the typical results. (imdb)

Cary Grant in a gangster drama. And I didn't like this one very much. Not a high class production and the story was all over the place. And Benita Hume as the leading lady wasn't much to brag about either even if it was the love story between her and Grant that was the most interesting thing here, with a train romance slightly reminiscent of Grant's train scenes in Hitchcock's North by Northwest. Grant did okay with what he had to work with, but this wasn't a movie he was allowed to shine much.
