No.....freakin.....way. One point because I was drunk while watching this and I got something out of that: NEVER DRINK WHEN SEEING A MOVIE ABOUT CATS!

Recently I decided I would not look at my Netflix DVD queue and just watch whatever happens to be next on my list that they send me. That is how I find myself to be watching this movie. A long time ago I added every Bill Murray movie I hadn't seen. It's truly not worth anyone's time.

So wait, despite the previous bomb, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Bill Murray, Breckin Meyer all decided to reprise their roles? Couldn't they have just been like, "yeah, Garfield was hit by a car and died" or something?

I actually thought this one was more enjoyable than the first one. Not a great movie but good fun to watch. Not hilarious but you can laugh with it. Just a decent movie I guess without being special in any possible way.

I've always hated this comic. Then they had to make a TV show out of it, then a movie, then a sequel. Goddammit.

This movie exists. People actually reprised their roles for a sequel to GARFIELD. I grew up reading Garfield (also grew up a couple of towns away from Jim Davis) and no one can seem to get it right when it comes to a film adaptation. It's unfortunate, because the old animated movies and actual story-based Garfield comics aren't too shabby. This was a complete misfire on just about every level.

More of a mixed bag than the first, but apart from the setting everything is exactly the same as before. The jokes are tired (the whole wrong side of the road thing is cringe worthy), musical moments are horrible and the usual mix of a CGI Garfield with real life animals doesn't work. The real animals are great on their own, actually much better than Garfield and Prince, with some great voice-overs and projected characters. In fact they steal the show in this otherwise slow paced movie.

The French novelist Collete once wrote, "Time spent with cats is never wasted." The folks at Fox have proven this statement wrong twice now.

Again: cats are always fantastic so 40points for that. Now even less is left for the horribly stupid script...

The film is just about identical to the film preceding it. It improves in one area, its pacing, while regressing in terms of overall story. Since we don't care much about the overseas cast, that storyline falls apart more than one featuring just Garfield, a character that we have grown to love not just because the first film gave us so much time with him, but also because of the already-established comic strip. On the whole, it'll entertain the children, and might also entertain their parents.

Got a few laughs out of me, which is more than the first can say; but overall gets away from Garfield too much, Billy Connolly tries too hard to be John Cleese and the ending is anti-climatic. Waste of Tim Curry, Bob Hoskins and JLH who is barely in it.

Wait... There's two of them! What a great idea! And then one of them is royal and they get mixed up, so the lazy american Garfield suddenly is some sort of king. Yes we have the premise... Uh, and what if big fat red cats all descended from a long and proud bloodline of nobel cats? Ladies and gentlemen we have a hit!

The first film wasn't required, they should have left Garfield alone, as the great cartoon that he is... I can't find any justification for the money spent on this film.

A typical family movie. It contains several re-done classical motives (ie. running through doors replaced with running through a garden fence scene), but it's actually not that bad. Most of the plot is predictable (I was surprised only once...), but is should be still enjoyable by children (also, it's not harmful for them in any way; no violence etc.). This ginger feline can be funny. Also, the computer effects are quite good. An acting's ok, the music's even better. Billy Connolly was great :D

Garfield 2 contains far more of what is to be enjoyed from the comic strip. It is still not a very good movie. Unless compared to the original. Billy Connolly brings in some enjoyable moments and Bill Murray is still a top of the line choice for the main role.

Garfield, the comic strip, is about a cat that hates Mondays, loves lasagna and the daily grind. The first film did manage to capture that, even if it was as mediocre as the comic strips. So why make a sequel that’s just adaptation of the Prince and the Pauper? Apart from two or three successful puns this reeks of absolute creative laziness.

Lighthearted sequel benefits from a change of locale, where a murderer’s row of UK talent can be assembled – no one is asked to do a great deal, but the dulcet tones of Curry, Hoskins, Leeves et. al. are most welcome, in support of great slapstick work from Connolly, who seems to be enjoying his peak period circling the big leagues in the early aughts. Of course, it’s all overly familiar, and Meyer, Hewitt and even Murray kinda sorta disappear into the background, but it’s still a good time.
