This feature film from Guatemala tells a story of three middle-class teenagers on a high-octane ride to hell outside the safety of their colony. They siphon gas from their neighbors cars and roam the streets, looking for any and every form of entertainment, but they soon learn that even the simplest actions can have consequences way beyond anything they imagined. And some lessons are learned too late. (Filmfest Munich)

More a documentary than a film. In raw images and without any music it captures the strange empty world of suburbs in Guatemala. In my opinion it gives an interesting impression about life outside the western world.

Even if it were good I wouldn't much like it, and this is far from good. Almost entirely shot at night in low light, which is atmospheric but visually bland, and centered on aimless middle class teens doing nonsensical stupid shit. At barely an hour long it feels endless, dragging the audience from scene to scene with no context or energy. The one memorable scene seems to exist only to shock the audience and, just like the others, is dropped and ignored.

A too brief insight into the lives of some Guatemalan teenagers. Problem is, nothing really interesting happens and there's nothing to bring the characters to life. The ending tries to be shocking but its actually a welcome change to these teenagers' mundane nocturnal antics.

This was actually surprisingly good. Too bad Hernández is already being considered some kind of enfant terrible in Guatemala. Their loss, I guess.
