Gekijô ban Kara no kyôkai: Dai isshô - Fukan fûkei

This is the first in a 7 films series that also contains a couple of side stories. Pretty to look at but not much depth. Things are a little too static for my taste and non of the characters have any emotions. Hopefully the story and/or characters become more interesting in the next film in the series.

Mediocre story with pretty good animation. I'll still hold my horse for the next installation, because I have a tickle the material has potential.

I guess if you want one really pretty action scene set in the rain, book ended by no characterization and "I'm 14 and this is deep" talk about philosophy . This movie was made for you. It really tries to use confusion and tone to carry itself, but it just makes the movie feel like it's distracting you from how empty it is. At least the animation doesn't feel like a mid 00's anime.

It's alright, but sometimes too supernatural for my taste. Has some decent gore, but a perfect anime to me has more than that. Muhahaha

Interesting and glossy enough to keep my attention through the short run time.

Fuck this kind of Yin-Yang philosophy! It's completely offensive! Who the * finds it ok? I'd rather become a worshiper of some insane Hindu deity like Kali than start believing in Yin-Yang.

don't like it. from a disability rights standpoint it's just f*cking stupid. nasu doesn't know anything about anything. it's not tragic, it's unempathetic. there's flashes of a more nuanced or complicated film, and without a doubt editing and animation is tops, but overall, nah
