Gekijouban Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel - III. Spring Song

Fucking amazing. I've been waiting 17 years for this and it was well worth the wait.

Mess of a story. Expositions dumps that are so rushed that it doesn't matter. Unless you played the Visual Novel character developments won't make sense and the plot will be hard to follow. What an awful landing. At least it has one of the best animated fight scenes ever made (and best fight scenes in general)

For me every iteration of Fate/Stay Night falters in its conclusion, as I just don't give a crap about the true nature of the grail or whatever, and this entire movie is no exception. It still looks pretty nice and there are some good action scenes, but yeah...

The high hopes I had for this movie were brought down instantly. It felt rushed, confusing and lacked anything substantial at its core. Most of the time things just happened because reasons and no clear image is ever conveyed to the viewer. The Sakura plot didn't interest me much either but I guess the VN would have done a better job than the movie trilogy. I would rank this higher but the disappointment is strong.
