pretty low budget scifi with a good but thin plot

Extra points for the Sci-Fi theme, but this low budget production struggles to satisfy. Some of the plot and dialog was tedious at times. Most of the story was poorly setup making much of the action confusing. The special effects were cheap. It was very hard to get invested in the mostly poorly developed characters. Music was mediocre. Overall, barely worth watching. The nice ending leaves it open to a possibly better remake.
