A vacationing Broadway producer, George White, stops off in a small Georgia town to send a telegram. He sees his name in lights on a local theater and is scandalized over the unauthorized use. He goes to the theater to object and, while there, discovers some unusual and great song-and-dance talent buried in a tank-town. He takes them to New York City, puts them in a new version of his Scandals and they are big hits. (imdb)

"George White's 1935 Scandals" has a plot built around several weak song and dance numbers and no real scandals.

They failed pretty bad with George White's Scandals (1934), why not try a 1935 version? It's perhaps a little bit better, but the material is still pretty bad. And it doesn't help that Fox doesn't have the same type of gloss to their productions as MGM & Warner Bros when they're doing what they do best. On the plus side you have Cliff Edwards, Ned Sparks, Alice Faye, Lyda Roberti and Eleanor Powell on support increasing the experience tremendously compared to the quality of the written product!
