Based on one of the more average short stories by Sadegh Hedayat. I feel that if people were to enjoy such long third person narratives throughout the film, they'd benefit more from reading the actual story. Mainly relies on narration and tedious melodramatic reactions of the actors as a means of showing emotional turmoil. Not exactly how you adapt a story for the screen.
