This movie is so fun that I'm surprised it isn't better known. Sweet-spirited, lots of creative visual ideas, and it's pretty damn funny besides. Even the rocknroll songs are good, which may be the biggest shock of all. McDowell in particular is a hoot as a Jagger-like rock star. It is such a crime that, between _Rock and Roll High School_ and this, Arkush didn't get a bigger career

This New Year's Eve music/comedy is a fun little gem. Full of familiar faces and a few famous names, the movie is a lighthearted rock n' roll satire farce. Although the movie was surprisingly funny, the musical segments, despite for the most part being genuinely entertaining, feel more like padding to meet some kind of musical song quota at times. However, still decent, and recommended worth a watch overall.

High spirited rock and roll farce, that managed me make me crack a smile or two, despite being totally dumb. I think the best joke comes in a form of characters shaped as various rock stereotypes - brooding Lou Reed, acid-dropping Greatful Deads and coke sniffing Malcom McDowell who probably plays himself. I just couldn't get into all the festiveness.
