When I decided to watch all these 80's-90's small creature features I certainly wasn't expecting "Ghoulies 3: Ghoulies Go to College" to be my favorite of the bunch. Even when the movie started I didn't like the new "Three Stooges" version of the "Ghoulies", but then surely my love of dumb comedy became too great and I quickly fell in love with this cheesy college comedy/horror-fantasy B-movie. However, this feels like one where maybe you should take my recommendation with a brick of salt.

Following in the garbage pail kids tradition of hideous puppets constantly chattering, the Ghoulies still manage to be out crazied by Kevin McCarthy's fearless dive into absurdity. This one provided the nudity this franchise desperately needed to continue.

Surprisingly fitting entry into the series. Besides the low body count this actually delivers a college comedy by the book. In fact this does a better job at a college comedy that most college comedies. There's also very little filler and lots of the Ghoulies at work with mostly good puppetry. McCarthy also seems to be enjoying himself hamming it all up. Recommended (I know, I can't believe it either).

I’m just as shocked as the rest of you. The ghoulies are dead and have been replaced by slapstick obsessed knuckleheads.

From the deep memory depths I think this was some decent nutty fun, with a bit of hotness thrown in, and one crazy mf McCarthy.

While still better than the first Ghoulies & mildly enjoyable, it's not exactly anything good. None of the characters are interesting, the supposed hero is a total clown, his much more likeable love interest barely gets to do anything, & there are roughly three kills across the whole runtime. The plot is a steaming mess. The Ghoulies talk now, which is awful, & most of the comedy is lame slapstick & bad puns. Kevin McCarthy isn't half bad, though. It's worth seeing once, but there's much better.
