Ginger, an orphan, is living with her foster-uncle, Rexford Whittington, a broken-down Shakesperian actor. Although denied the love of a mother and father, Ginger looks after her uncle, gives him lectures, loves him, defends him and keeps house for him. But, through a meddling do-gooder, she is placed in the home of the Parkers, and clashes immediately with the pampered young son, Hamilton. (imdb)

Jane Withers getting her first starring role after successfully making Shirley Temple's life miserable in Bright Eyes (1934). Withers was a talented child star too. While not as sweet as Temple, she had a spunk and rebellion in her. And a mighty fine actress too! Just watch her imitating Zasu Pitts & Greta Garbo! It was like watching the originals! And she is the life of this party! Old O.P. Heggie was a nice counter character, even if even he is a child at heart. A nice feel-good family movie.
