My (now-)wife and I almost stopped dating after seeing this in theatres. It was so dumb and so boring, we didn't make out, we were in so much awe at its badness. Leaving, we barely spoke. I puked up the Joe's Crab Shack later that evening. We've never gone back to Joe's Crab Shack. I've never seen the movie again. We married in spite of this evening.

There was nothing suspenseful or exciting about this film. It also lacks having a climax.

I felt this could have been a lot better, but the plot is spotty and the thrills are barely there. On the (small) bright side, Cameron Bright is probably going to wind up being the next big thing provided he doesn't fall to the child star curse.

One of the most pretentious films I've ever seen in my entire existence. Makes you wonder about plenty of things while watching it, like if you put all the locks in the door or maybe what you'll be cooking later in the day.

Ooh! Evil children! Evil cloned children! This movie's about as scary as a hangnail and equally annoying.

What is that for a movie ? Strange story with one of my favorite actors : R. De Niro. The end was so silly and strange. Not too much suspense.

The problem with this movie, is to have a plot so absurd, that which failed on finish with any explanation or simply develop the story. It seemed that it would be interesting at the beginning, a different subject, but it was not.

Does Robert De Niro even read scripts anymore?

Less a bad movie than a dull one, squandering an intriguing premise (with echoes of Bright's work in BIRTH) with a muddled and confused screenplay (and a finale that reeks of the general confusion). Kinnear and De Niro do fine, if spending too much time clutching aggressively at each other’s lapels; Romijn delivers the most convincing performance in the cast, managing to sell the inherent pain and emotion of her character quite well, a minor miracle given the way the film treats her motivation.

I still don't get it. And I don't remember whether I finished watching it or not...perhaps I turned it off, and that's why I don't get it. Either way, it wasn't memorable.

Not as terrible as you'd think, but a logistical nightmare. Decent performances and a few decent scares hint at a film that should have committed to either straight horror or scientific plausibility.

It's actually not as bad as I feared. The storytelling and acting is pretty competent and there are some genuinely troubling moments. On the other hand the premise is rather weakly explained and the ending is really forced and anticlimactic. I've seen plenty worse but I wouldn't recommend it.

In one word: Boring. How did they manage to take an interesting premise and, upon realizing they had nothing worthy to do with it, the filmmakers take a sharp turn to another tale of possesion/bad seed/evil child/kid who sees ghosts, etc. The only pleasant surprise in this is that Rebecca Romjin can actually act.

It's pretty much only tolerable, because of DeNiro. Otherwise a completely throw-away film.

It's actually not as bad as people tell you... until halfway through, when it runs out of plot, and becomes that most unforgivable of all things: Boring.

Top badass moment? We all know that a good teacher can change someone's life, but in this film we also learn that it can literally save your own life too. I sometimes provide training as part of my job and like most things I suck at it. I've never managed to impart a single bit of knowledge to anyone and tying to do so has never saved my life or changed anyone else's for the better. o I guess being a good teacher is badass. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

Godsend is definitely one of the dullest and most pretentious films I've ever seen. And the worst thing is I've somehow watched it twice. Not only is the idea completely moronic, the execution is awful and completely un-engaging. By Greg Kinnear & Rebecca Romijn's standards this is poor. But how low can Robert De Niro stoop? Does he even bother reading scripts before he cashes in the pay cheques. There's no excuse for him tarnishing and disgracing his career with roles like this. Truly awful.

What a waste. Could have been so much more, it's well made and filmed, just waaayyy too much on the drama and not enough on the other genres. Great concept and pretty good cast gone to waste.
