Godzilla

If you imagine all the Italian dialog as "Godzilla, Godzilla, Godzilla!" it's hysterical... until they cut to real WW2 footage of people dying; then it's just in disturbingly bad taste.

Cozzilla is truly an enigma, a relic from a time when the international film market was still the wild west. It was a time when distributors would rather dye a film stock in tie-dye colors than show it in black and white, and a time when neither Toho or Embassy Pictures really seemed to care. Gojira is a movie made for monochrome, deep shadows interrupted by flashes of white as the cities of Japan fall under Gojira's flame. What does it turn into when you force color onto it? Nothing good.

Strangely weird but the strange mix of real footage, and literally dozens of different films to make this just about, almost, works.
