I don't know. This did have Mae West doing Opera. And singing the super West-cool "He's a Bad Man". Plus she walks with a lot of swagger like only Mae West can. But there was something that stopped this from working as well as other Mae West films. Maybe the lack of a real boy toy for her, as Paul Cavanagh didn't exactly spell handsome young hunk, you know, the kind she liked to play with. A lot of the comedy also felt like Mae West style in autopilot. She still got in a few naughty lines.

"When you drink it, you think of everything." "I don't need vodka for that!" Not one of Mae's best, but it's agreeably silly and does--fortunately--get better as it goes along, culminating in a Southampton party where she sings a scene from Samson et Dalila ("I got a lot of respect for that dame. There's one lady barber that made good.")--in French (!!--well, sort of...), a gambit to make people think she's classy, bless her heart. Clearly, no one involved had ever MET any opera singers.

It was Mae West being herself with high society in her crosshairs. It didn't work for me, but it was made for a 1930's audience.
