In '34, Bob Hope (aged 31) caught his first breaks into film and radio, having spent the last decade or so working his way up the vaudeville circuit to some recent leads on Broadway. His first film is a short with a bit of singing, like a dumber version of the nonsensical rapid-fire of radio comedy a la Jack Benny (They eat jumping beans, so they jump!). It is also, as per Hope himself, an absolute mess. It is perhaps just as well the six-film contract with Educational ended after just the one.

Bob Hope arrives to town! This is his movie debut. A 20 minute short from Educational Films Corp. And boy, was this one all over the place! A few good one liners and silly moments, but pretty much dreadful otherwise. Hope was not yet crafted for the movie world and it would be a few years before he'd break through in front of the camera. So this is just a curious tidbit because it's Bob Hope's first attempt at being funny.
