Golden Earrings

Most important thing about Golden Earrings (1947) is: What a waste of Marlene Dietrich! Ray Milland somehow came off without much of a dent in this rubbish. But Dietrich, as a exotic creature, was stripped off all of her appeal. This was a trash literature story of forbidden gypsy love with the hiding from Nazis plot-line, I was surprised they agreed to take part in. With that said, there was a grotesque allure to it all. It's a bad movie, but... it's kitsch, almost.
