This banned 'toon doesn't seem as overly offensive as some of the others. The stereotypes are there, but that's not unusual for any grouping in cartoons. It is kind of a neat little jazz tribute if you can stomach the signs of the times.

Too bad that Freleng chose to use such derogatory stereotyping for his characters, because the base story and animation are pretty good. It's obvious he's trying to catch some of the fire that Tex Avery had sparked with Red Hot Riding Hood a couple of years earlier. But where that cartoon is now considered a masterpiece, this short is just too offensive to be considered anything other than a failed effort.
