Like a tamer, more kid oriented version of \"The Hangover,\" but I fail to see exactly who the target audience is because the R rating is left intact. I\'d be lying if I said it wasn\'t entertaining at all, or that none of the jokes landed, but I can\'t recommend it.

Be warned it falls into the usual 3rd act follies when you just came here for some sillies. \"Gentleman, I came here to watch kids say swears not emotionally grow.\" All of the cool kids in this would be bullied into oblivion in a real school - I think, is that yeet? Can I get some bread over here??

It's not a particularly great film, but it definitely carries a lot of heart and energy. The dynamic between a these boys is quite entertaining, more so because I don't really find a bunch of kids swearing to be that funny. For just pure entertainment, it's very good, but the actual progression and structure of the film is very flawed, and just really feel like a series of events just thrown together by a ever so convenient plot device that continually keeps recycling itself.

Boys are crying, struggling with peer pressure, accepting their differences, expressing affection, and being kids. It's often clunky and the few moments of sensitive drama are too heavy for the actors to convincingly sell, but as a whole the film is surprisingly progressive, genuinely hilarious, and refreshingly innocent. A lot of fun.

Unfocused and unwieldy comedy has some gags that work well in isolation, and Tremblay, Williams and Noon are a terrific team, but film never gathers the momentum it needs to sustain itself, as it can\'t settle on a base level \"reality\" (the interminable confrontation with drug pushers feels right out of left field). If it had stuck to a more-or-less live action SOUTH PARK, this could have been a winner, especially with its child cast\'s gusto for crude and scatological language.

Good Boys is exceptionally funny - rolling on the floor, gasping for breath funny. It\'s a rare film that comedically depicts being a sixth grader in a much more daring and honest way than your average coming-of-age film. Entirely rewatchable, this movie is a great time due to its phenomenally hilarious screenplay.

The trailer was cut as a gimmicky \"hey everyone look, we got kids to swear. Come see the kids say all the swears!\" type of movie, but it had more heart than it should of. The ending scene at the party seemed suspiciously similar to that time when Gordie Lachance said goodbye to Chris Chambers (Google it). If that Anti Bullying squad would have existed back when I was in school, they would have been beaten to death behind the bleachers by the rest of the student body. I guess times have changed.

It\'s hard to grade this since I was in a theater filled with groups of its likely target audience - males in their late teens who think it\'s hysterical to yell things. Still the fact is that I almost never laughed and that\'s very bad for a comedy. This is shock comedy of the kind Rogen & his buddies have done way better before & maybe it\'s bc the child acting isn\'t always solid or b/c nothing that happens feels organic, but all the sex toy jokes seem more like MTV music awards than Superbad.

Vulgarity from the mouths of babes. Great acting. Fantastic dialog. Story is very simple. Don\'t count on it being realistic, which seems obvious in this case. Very solid popcorn flick.

Lots of laughs to be found in this one, though the emotional content (which yes, it does try to go for at times) leaves a little something to be desired. As good as Jacob Tremblay is, basically always, Keith Williams is a scene-stealer in this one. I\'ve seen some complaints about the \"consent\" running gag (which was only like two things, come to think of it), which is silly. If you go into it knowing what to expect (raunch, which they don\'t exactly keep a secret), you should have a good time.

Good Boys succeeds at evoking themes of friendship and growing up and apart. Unfortunately, the film falters at its primary purpose of entertaining. If you\'re looking for tweens swearing, misunderstanding sex, and getting increasingly violent, that is all you\'ll get. The jokes are repetitive, the plot asinine, and worst the characters are not endearing. The cast is fine though.

The prepubescent counterpart to Superbad and Booksmart. It never manages to be quite as witty as Superbad nor as clever as Booksmart. It\'s crude for the sake of being crude, and it hits all the low hanging shock value fruit you\'d expect to. Still, as long as you leave the high horse you came in on outside, you\'ll find yourself having laughs throughout. Like Booksmart, it manages to convey a wholesome heartfelt message despite it\'s obnoxious crass style. It\'s nothing special, but it\'s a fun romp.

Not even trying to be realistic (and sometimes not even trying to make sense) and some of the gags don't land, but an able cast–in particular an ever talented Tremblay–keep it afloat.

The premise is middle school Superbad but this film sure did make me laugh way more than expected. It is very raunchy and has some very adult themed jokes. If you dont like kids swearing and talking about sex then skip this one. The young cast are very good and absolutely sell the premise well to help bring forth the laughs. It is fun, in your face over the top comedy that tries to mash in a few poignant life lessons along the way. It works better as a crazy comedy for the most part.

This film isn\'t too bad. The spirit of these kids and really helped make this film funny. It\'s particularly their immature and uneducated view on mature, adult things that makes this film shine. It may be slightly exaggerated, but what comedy isn\'t?

Not a bad effort, and it\'s the type of movie that the young me would have definitely enjoyed more. The fact that they use younger kids in this type of comedy, kind of swings from awkward to brilliant constantly, so some joke can be a little cringy. The story is a little haphazard but has some heart and says a little about friendship, it is by no means a great film; it\'s funny at times though entirely forgettable.

Good Boys had a lot of laughs. I enjoyed the three kids they got to play in the movie and I was glad that the movie focused on them and their story. The parents and characters who surrounded them were good too but the films producers recognized that this movie isn\'t their story and focused on the kids. The movie has a lot of raunch which is emblematic of what kind of comedies work these days. I liked this movie because they sprinkled in some sweetness and a relatable adolescent story.

Pretty unmemorable Superbad-type film. The young age of the boys made it too hard for me to connect with them and their motivations. It was funny each time Lucas ratted the boys out or when they were so oblivious about sex toys. Fav scene: flying the drone home thinking he made it in time.

It was really funny at the beginning, lost some steam at some point, but I still think it\'s a great comedy with good enough chemistry between the three boys. There were some hokey parts, of course, where it felt like they were just going for cheap \"it\'s kids swearing so it\'s funny\" gags, but that was minimal. There were some parts that bordered on subversive, as well, though whether that was the intention or not is unclear to me.

The park scene where they do the first drone trade was filmed across the street from where I lived for 20 years (the park looks way nicer than it did when I was a kid and they kept my dump of a house desperately out of the frame) so that was cool. Other than that, it's cute. Wish it was funnier though.

Meh. The movie was only 90 minutes but it felt longer because it seemed to be going in circles with the endless sex and drug gags. Weird how Forte and Gordon also had prominent roles in the other summer comedy, Booksmart.

This movie has genuinely hilarious jokes that made me burst out laughing and its crude juvenile energy is the sort of vibe that I wish more writers would take when depicting youth of this age. Unfortunately, the film dashes between its dramatic and comedic beats awkwardly wherein it starts leaning more and more towards interpersonal conflict which is slapped on with no punchline, and I don't think the writers nor actors were competent enough to not make that boring and lame.

A funnier than usual R-rated comedy. Although, it\'s a tough one to take as these kids are the reason it\'s R-rated (language mostly). There are some nice moments too though.

Everything old is new again. A rehash of \"Superbad\" but a rather stagnant one at that. It can be cute at times, but overall we learn nothing along with the characters and our lives are not richer for having seen this movie. It\'s a cute diversion, but nothing else. Take it for what it is, or don\'t. My recommendation is that if you have anything else to see, you\'re probably better off seeing that instead.

Yes, there\'s only a handful of jokes over and over. The question is, do you find it funny when twelve-year-olds swear with the intensity of Scorsese mobsters? If the answer is yes, you may enjoy Good Boys. But beyond that, this juvenile comedy actually has a juvenile heart beating beneath it. It\'s pretty good!

my dad once snapped my queen greatest hits cassette (yeah showing my age here--hate to blow yalls minds but in my day dads didn't even have drones either!) in half because on the B-side my friends and i had recorded our 10yo selves using every swear word we happened to know by that point, which was most of them i suppose. i assumed he was disappointed by the swearing itself, but now i'm wondering if the real issue was the embarrassing tryhardery on display. movie isn't inaccurate, just annoying.

The child actors are as good as can be expected, but not completely up to the task of leading this kind of Apatow-ian comedy. The editing and some of the sound design also undermine some of the comedy. This all combines for a movie that feels like it was probably really funny on the page, but doesn\'t reach its full potential on the screen. In any event, there are a still plenty of laughs and it\'s a fun ride.

Went into this movie with high expectations due to the pedigree of the Superbad name, and came out weakly satisfied. The slapstick is mostly centered around sex toys and the consequences of stretch-the-imagination idiocy from the main Bean Bag Boys. Not as many laugh-out-loud moments as Superbad, or even Booksmart, but the boys manage to grow and learn some decent lessons about friendship by the end. The emotional parts satisfy more than the \"Superbad\" parts. Decent afternoon watch.

Do you find the idea of young boys smelling on sex toys and then commenting how it smells like poop hilarious? Then this will be your favorite movie. If not, you\'re in for many rough jokes just like that. The child acting is bad (the German dub even worse). Which is unfortunate since almost everything the older characters do, is kind of funny. If this movie wouldn\'t be about kids, it could quite possibly actually be good.

Seth Rogen saw his friend Jonah Hill make an R-Rated kid movie with lots of sex and cursing in Mid90s, so he felt he had to make one too. There\'s some good laughs in this, but there\'s also some jokes that just get way too tiresome or are just terrible. Story is very average and could have been a lot more. Disclaimer: I couldn\'t decide if I liked or disliked this film, so right in the middle it goes. I will likely update the rating some day when I\'m comparing it to my other ratings.

This flick tries to get A LOT of mileage out of the young kids swearing a lot, and I must say that it wears thin really really quickly. That\'s not to say that it\'s not funny, but a good 60% of the jokes fall flat. The other 40% is pretty good though, so it\'s entertaining is a bit tedious at times.
