Joan Blondell the honest blackmailer! And it's rather adorable. She invades a dysfunctional rich family and changes their life. Theirs.... and her professor Melvyn Douglas. Walter Connolly, as the head of the family, is a funny hypochondriac! The family less so, but has their scheming moments. Blondell is sweet enough to cover for all of them. Definitely one for the Blondell fans. And it's not often they drink Akevitt in Hollywood films, but here they had a taste of Scandinavia!
