More humor is found in knowing that this is inspired by a true story than in most of the scenes that try to make you laugh. I also enjoyed the movie adding some suspense, however obvious the plot was as others have noted.

It's always engaging and Shlesinger is good, but the plot puts the audience way ahead of the character, who needed at least one reason to believe that Hansen was telling her the truth.

I enjoy Shlesinger's stand-up and while I don't think she exactly broke out in her performance here, she was definitely solid on her own. But in terms of her and Hansen, there's a lack of chemistry, which makes their emotional connection hard to see. I would blame Shlesinger's writing as well for that because Hansen seems TOO obvious. Final act falls a bit flat. But elsewhere the writing is breezy, entertaining, a bit charming, and I wanted to know why this guy was lying.
