Goodnight Mommy

Having not seen the original, I can't compare. I will say this, there are some serious problems here and none of them come at the feet of Watts, who is wonderful as always. The internal logic is weird, people act a little strange. The tension goes away at a certain point. At first I was like "oh this is cool, what's going on with this woman?" but because it's revealed so early that something is amiss, the suspense drags out too long. Also predicted the reveal, fairly late, but still.

Just not good.

2022'de #IzlediğimFilmler ; 243. Goodnight Mommy (2022) Crovetti ikizlerinin son derece başarılı oyunculukları ile başarılı sayılabilecek bir yeniden çevrim. Ama orijinalini tercih ederim.

While the tension and performances are strong, "Goodnight Mommy" doesn't do enough to justify its existence as a remake. It may appeal to audiences looking for something vaguely spooky but not too intense, but fans of the original may be disappointed by its softened content.

I expected to hate this film, but for whatever reason, I found myself appreciating the story and dialog.
