Lance Preston and the crew of "Grave Encounters", a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years. If you could take a fantastic psychological thriller with some supernatural undertones, throw it into an abandoned mental hospital and start picking off your cast one by one, ideally you'd make Session 9. If you wanted to make a found footage creeper in a good setting, you could do worse than this.

This is a movie that has grown on me. I initially scored it 65, but changed that on watching it a third time. It's not amazing, but it is very re-watchable, which speaks for its entertainment value, which is all I base my scores on really. I like how it sends up those ridiculous fucking "reality" ghost hunter shows. Sure they're easy targets, but how many movies have done it (well)? A lot of reviewers seem hung up on "it's a Blair Witch/Paranormal Activity ripoff" when it's actually a TV satire.
