A big inter-continental flop for RKO, made by their British office. The general story is that of small-town gossip and keeping-up appearances. A facade which breaks as all the town gossips work together for the ceremony of the US First Lady. This sets off a bunch of minor quarrels and some family scandals. This is a fairly good drama, which grew on me, even if it's a little wrongly aimed.
