A fairly standard investigation/anti-corruption film held up by Cagney's presence. There's nothing new here but aside from Cagney. I did get a chuckle at the end with the police chief "trying" to break the door down.

Great Guy, but not a Great Movie. You can see already from the start this production isn't as crisp as his WB movies would be, but thankfully no one is more professional then Cagney and he shows he's a Great Guy by lifting this movie way above the level it would have been with any other actor available on the independent market! Cagney always does something crazy to make it worth wild like socking any guy that's in his way! Also he's reunited with "Miss Grape Fruit in the Face" Mae Clarke!
