You can hate the script for not being true, and that's fine, but unless you really hate shaky cam, this is a pretty good war thriller.

It was very well shot and it was fairly entertaining. However, politically it really bothered me. It had one idea and it just hammered it into the audience's head over and over again. WMD's were a lie. Over and over. Kind of annoying. But otherwise pretty good.

Had a decent flow and wasn't what you would say boring, of course there was plenty of "action", predictable plot, but the content of the film was biased yet not too dull regarding how events played out in the dismantling of Saddam's regime. Damon wasn't bad but his character was a bit too animated. Overall it was better than expected for a Hollywood war film.

Greengrass' up-close portrayal of Shock & Awe and the occupation's effect on Iraqi civilians is the draw here. The plot of American politicking is dull (a charge that could honestly be leveled at the actual events, though, in more ways than one), sapping the vitality of the picture much as in Bourne 3. It's wish fulfillment territory with Damon's character and his direct revelation of wrongdoing, but where Greengrass can wrest control away from the Helgeland script, it's truly affecting.

Not a damon fan but this was a little surprising that I liked him in it. But it was too predictable at times

Green Zone is a mixed bag. The action sequences are nothing we haven't seen before and aren't really all that exciting. The characters are one dimensional. But the strength of the film lies in its summing up of the failings by the media and US political establishment in the Iraq invasion. When Damon figures out the WMD justification is baloney, the reaction of the Iraqi characters is a justified "so what? How does that help us now?" There the film suggests there are no easy solutions to Iraq.

doesn't hurt to be reminded how futile the war in iraq truly was.

Far from boring, and contains some decent acting, but is quite heavy handed. I was against the Iraq War and am a harsh critic of the Bush administration, but when you're writing a FILM, it's good to be subtle when it comes to politics, something which this film can't do. So, sometimes it feels like a thriller, and sometimes it feels like a commercial for Damon's political beliefs. It has good intentions, but as a whole, it's uneven.

Decent enough and competently made thriller, but when your plot twist in 2010 is "No WMDs!" and a political statement this simple is permanently smashed into your face, one does get a bit tired

This would have been so much better if it wouldn't have had these shaky cams and predictable plot. Nice action, and interesting to see that Hollywood is trying to comment on recent american politics.

Yeah, it's Matt Damon in an action film.

War drama based on the book of the same name, about an officer who discovers an elaborate cover up while searching for evidence to sanction the war in Iraq. a jangly, noisy, compulsively restless thriller on a par with the 'Bourne' movies, shot through with political critique.... there's no denying 'Green Zone's' propulsive energy and the tantalizing idea of Damon making everything all right as a brave, morally infallible soldier.

Average military drama from the usually reliable Paul Greengrass. Damon is solid as ever, and there is good support from Jason Isaac and Brendon Gleeson. Sadly the film just isn't thrilling enough to recommend it. A missed opportunity considering the talent involved

Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass return to the propulsive action and visceral editing of the Bourne films -- but a cliched script and stock characters keep those methods from being as effective this time around.

Entertaining scenes, yes, but movies like this are far too delayed to have any kind of real-world impact; the whole film seems somewhat disingenuous if only for timing.

Story's not great, but it makes an excellent excuse to make a movie I suspect Greengrass was all too eager to make. And it's a good thing he did, because part from the screenplay, everything else in this movie is superb: the camera-work is like the Bourne Ultimatum on high-cafeined espresso, Damon is surely enjoying himself, which shows - and the setting is perfect.
