“I’m mom, I'm full o classrooms, so many clocks in me.” I'm really sad that I watched this sober.

While this is terribly unenjoyable, it's laced with surprising metaphor, including on concepts like cults, fundamentalist religion, and the nightmare of domestication into a nonsensical society. Check out minirant's youtube video to get some unique perspectives on it. This is either a not-so-good great movie or a great not-so-good movie.

Mileage may definitely vary on something like this. You have to be directly on its wavelength or you will hate every second. Liked it more and more as it went along. Is it some like intricate farcical masterwork of course not but it’s just a weird good time

There’s a reason why Adult Swim shows are 15 minutes. Wears on you but has some pretty funny moments. “If anyone’s a school it’s julien”. I saw a review comparing this to Wes Anderson. Please scoop out your eyeballs and give them to a blind man. You don’t need em.

There's something compelling somewhere in here but whatever that is, it never materializes.

I really love how ambitious this movie is. It has a unique vision and really goes for it. Stylistically this movie is great and the acting is very much on point. Unfortunately the writing and directing is where this movie is a bit of a let down. IMO the humor is too dry and because of that the laughs don't really land like they're supposed to. Everything would have worked so much better as a campier zanier over the top parody instead of a depressing surrealistic satire.

Parts of this movie are pretty interesting and funny. a couple really hilarious scenes throughout. It doesn't really feel too special though, aesthetically weird and an offbeat humor mix pretty well at times and others fall flat. So a bit of a mixed bag but watchable/recommendable to a certain auidence.

Upsetting avant-garde comedy. I'd be lying if I said I understood what it meant at all but I laughed a fair few times even though it made me feel kind of ill as well.

I really wanted to love this, but while the film has a unique aesthetic and some fun surreal comedy, it also doesn't really have anything new to say. As it stands, it's a fairly entertaining collection of sketches that runs way too long.

i'm pretty taken with how repulsive this thing is aesthetically, and they've got a good handle on tone and performances (the ridiculous beck bennett in particular). never justifies being feature length though, it occasionally threatens to have a perspective on the fundamentally colonialist nature of suburbia, but mostly falls back on arbitrary, repetitive satire that would've been tired in the nineties, with an extra dose of zany adult swim randomness for bad measure.

A sickly imaginative surrealist comedy that often feels just on the brink of becoming a horror. The murderous foreboding ends up being more of a disorienting tactic to set-up the real terror: A woman losing her vitality by subscribing to the pleasantries of suburban life. Aesthetically it feels like Adult Swim did a feature length of the beginning of "Blue Velvet". Runs about 25 minutes too long.
