A mild mannered entry into the dubious catalogue of high concept action movies, in the ilk of 'Wanted', 'Kingsman' and 'Crank'. It takes quite the quarantined juvenile jerk to enjoy this. Hold on, I think I'm telling this 'What's got two thumbs' joke wrong...

Bonkers, crude and deep enough up its own ass to be a fun romp. Nothing more and nothing less. I really enjoy Samara Weaving fully embracing her charisma as a splatter/horror icon.

With its poor attempts at social commentary, a lack of creativity in its action scenes, and poor characters, Guns Akimbo feels like a waste of a good idea. It revels in the thing it, in theory, condemns and it doesn't give its actors enough character depth to work with and for its audience to care about. No amount of neat visuals, childish humor, or spurting blood is going to make up for that.

"Guns Akimbo" tries half-heartedly to impart some deeper social commentary to it's mindless action film framework, but it's lack of commitment is more beneficial. It was a mindless waste of an hour and a half, nothing more, and I can't honestly say I regret it. Harry Potter sure has grown up, though, too bad all the fans haven't.

It took a while to get into, but if you watch it without really thinking then the action is fun. The idea is cool, but the writing around it is pretty bad and it's very predictable. There were some good jokes, a couple coming from Rhys Darby, but not enough.

Daniel Radcliffe has left behind his Harry Potter days. Now we're waiting for him to leave behind his "leaving behind Harry Potter" days. Also, I got the distinct impression that somebody's favourite movie is Suicide Squad. Consider this a heads-up.

In the hands of someone like Edgar Wright this could have been great. The idea is fun, but they tried way too hard to make this cool. Radcliffe is not bad, though.

One tires of its style and dialogue within the first five minutes, making the remaining ninety minutes into an endurance test. No idea why Radcliffe thought this was a good role to take.

The feel good movie of the covid era. Harry fuckin Potter with the worst Philly accent I've ever heard manages to pull it off. Still, his accent was way more believable than his British one. I mean, really. Next time get someone who speaks the Queens' English to be a wizard. stupid gits.

A mashup of John Woo gunfights, Scott Pilgrimesque stylization, and wouldbe social satire with some watchable performances from Radcliffe, Darby and a delightfully unhinged Weaving. Starts off engagingly enough but goes nowhere.

Guns Akimbo delivers plenty of violence and energy as it quickly cycles through a range of perspective shots for each scene. The plot isn't anything new; shifting its thematic criticism to commentators and consumers of contentious material in this incarnation. The film isn't great, but it is mildly entertaining thanks to decent performances, a light-hearted script and a tone of self-awareness to all the silliness. Radcliffe continues to choose roles that require physical absurdity.

Despite Radcliffe giving this his best effort, Guns Akimbo is a surprisingly dull actioner given it's clear attempts to be OTT and cool.

Similar in theme to the vastly superior KickAss, but here everything has more of a cartoony feel, yet the atmosphere is extremely nihilistic, and the violence is more gratuitous. This mixture of grim despair and light hearted ultra-violence is jarring and ultimately doesn't work. Some of the action scenes are entertaining, so it might pass an hour and a half if you're bored out of your mind and really drunk, but I wouldn't attempt this movie sober if I were you.

Criticker predicted this score exactly. This is a fun movie. It's like a mix between Edward Scissorhands, Crank, and Scott Pilgrim vs the World - but not quite as fun as any of those. Quite a bit dizzying with all the loop-de-loo form of camera-work and crazy editing. Not terrible at the end of the day, though. I had an okay time with it. Biased Score: 64% | Unbiased Score: 74%

Why is every character so snarky? Stop being snarky, you idiots. Whoever directed this needs to stop after the 4th Monster.

I wasn't as big of a fan of Nerve as others, but this is even worse. Adding distraction after distraction on the screen does just what you might predict- it distracts from any entertaining action that might exist. Stupid comedy, nonchalant violence without stakes, and an editing style of a five-year-old. This is bad.

It has this manic energy to it, which keeps it entertaining. The "running man" modernization is a kind of a tired plot, but it somehow worked well. The body mods are pretty well-done and some of the characters are genuinely menacing. It runs out of steam after a while, but overall it is a watchable movie.

This is a whole big thing of the movie going "but look how cool, LOOK LOOK YOU'RE NOT LOOKING LOOK!" and it feels... awkward. Waste of two good actors, especially Samara, who is a scream queen in my mind. She has a cool character but everything in this movie is just so annoying. Doing a cool and stylish movie with crazy action is a slippery slope to take and you either succeed in it or fail gloriously. You can guess which category this one belongs in. Yikes.

Obnoxiously kitsch, incredibly confused, ironically condescending, power-fantasy shlock. An amalgamation of ideas & moments that worked in other movies/contexts, strung together aimlessly by lazy narration and pandering. It hopes its cliche "loveable loser" POV will endear you past the failures of filmmaking & storytelling, including a hero propelled by plot armor alone. Where its humor might almost work, like all else in the film, it too crumbles under forces from the stylistic blackhole.

I feel like a movie where the guy has guns stuck on his hands should be better. I found a fair bit of this cheesy in a bad way. But it's not without merit: Radcliffe was fun, there was some good music (but other musical choices were not so inspired), and there's some interesting visuals on display occasionally. Social commentary is meh, but at least it's there I suppose. It was entertaining and I guess that's what matters, but it could have been a lot more.

This was a fun movie. Its was unable to hold itself together for the entire runtime but when it worked it was a blast and when it didn't at least it wasn't too boring. Nice effort and it reminds me to check out anything Daniel Radcliffe is in.

There are many good things about this movie but the final product is just sub-par. I really liked the soundtrack choice, crazy spinning shots and Radcliffe. On the other side, every other character is just painful to watch, villains are pathetic and action scenes towards the end are atrocious. It's like the first half was directed by someone else who went totally wacky and then some tryhards came and decided to go serious all of a sudden.

Lousy Nerve + Fight Club + Neveldine/Taylor ripoff that evidently is not shot like a real film, but a reality streaming TV show smashed into a videogame cut scene. Like Weaving's Harley Quinn cocaine-driven dick-shooting machine and Radcliffe really having a blast playing a nice guy who just wants to troll the internet trolls and ends up becoming a vigilante (????).

You know how there's that urban legend about how Bill Murray accepted his role in Garfield because he mistook the screenplay writer's name (Joel Cohen) for Joel Cohen of the Cohen brothers? Is that what happened here? Daniel Radcliffe accidentally finds himself in an overwhelmingly mediocre flick? Best watched at 1.5x speed, or by skipping most scenes entirely.

İlginç öyküsü ve aşırı şiddetiyle iyi 1 film. İnteraktif 1 oyunda trollük yapan gencimiz, oyuna dahil olunca ölüm kalım savaşı başlayacaktır. Nerve ve The Purge filmiyle konusu benzer olsa da, hareketli temposuyla harikalar yaratılmış. Daniel Radcliffe ezik rolde idare etse de, Samara Weaving aksiyon kraliçesi olarak kalpleri kazanıyor. Filmin sonunda, kalan sağlar bizimdir diyelim. Ama arkası yarın. Yüreğimde 1 çocuk elimde 2 baretta.

Woohoooo, Daniel Radcliffe! Fun, cartoon-y and absurd - Guns Akimbo is almost perfect. The only thing I didn't like was the awkward one-liner jokes/dialogues, that were just dull and unnecessary.

Enjoyable popcorn flick, entirely DESPITE the writing. The concept definitely feels like a waste of a good idea, especially the specifics of the guns being drilled in place. The villain is especially cartoonish unfortunately, and the Nix character just feels like a knockoff Harley Quinn attempt. Go see Birds of Prey instead if you can, this one is if you have nothing else to watch. Still, enjoyable enough.
