Now I've only seen the Theatrical version of the Paul Rudd "Halloween" sequel, so I'm only working with the mishmash mess version of the Druid cult plot, not-"Tommy Jarvis", more of the long lost "Strode" family, and Michael Myers's rape baby. Sadly, unlike with Donald Pleasence, this film only seemed to be the franchise's death rattle. The series would go to live on by just ignoring this terrible mutant remix of "Halloween" sequels, and continually just kept trying to reboot the series.

It's a really weird feeling to realize the movie you're watching is completely, irredeemably incomprehensible. It's what I imagine an out of body experience must be like, just looking down at all the choppy editing and dropped storylines in horror.

Rather than being full of dismemberment (though one victim does get his face pushed through a fence), it's mostly disjointed nonsense. But hey, what did you expect?

I'm giving this points for story ambition: even though there are massive plotholes & much is left unexplained, at least it's interested in more than repeating slasher template. Instead, it seems to be trying to connect all the major story elements from the previous films. It completely fails to do this in any comprehensible, never mind satisfying, way. It's the kind of film that makes you wonder what the original script looked like, but with this franchise, maybe it was this bad from the start.

This is a confusing slog that just continually adds layers that don't need to be added. The ending is hilarious in how insensitive it is -- Loomis screaming, then the sound of a knife, and "In Memory of Donald Pleasence."

What in the hell is this? What is it? Honestly. This is almost as bad as the Friday the 13th featuring the psychic girl fighting Jason. Michael is the result of a strange druid cult? I don't even know what to say other than this movie is just bad and stupid.

So, uh, the whole druid/occult/"bred to be evil" stuff in this movie is pretty horrible, right? I'm sorry, I don't know why I used a question mark there, because it's a statement. It's horrible. Shame to see Pleasence go out on such a bum note. Kind of amusing to see young Paul Rudd, though.

Top badass moment? As the doctor with the worst bedside manner in the world and for holding the whole franchise together, Donald Pleasence is simply badass; sadly he died shortly afterwards. Unfortunately, even he can't make this film feel like a Halloween one, despite most of the relevant components being present. Watching it was like drinking Pepsi from a Coke bottle; okay tasting but somehow just wrong. 1 decapitation (well it's technically an exploding head), no cats or chainsaws.

Half the movie straight-up rips off the original Halloween, except incompetently so, which is not a good look. And the attempt to retroactively give the whole series a Big Bad other than Michael is ludicrous. There are some bits that go admirably direct-to-video bonkers, but just like the other post-Carpenter films, it just looks too damn cheap, incoherent, and ugly to even make the gore worthwhile. And that ending... Geez.

I watched the theatrical cut and it's quite evident that there are competing ideas that do not blend together. I thought the regular slasher scenes are surprisingly gory and OK, although edited in a way that gets tired very quickly, but the druid scenes are laughable and diminish the menace of Michael Myers. Pleasance is obviously quite tired and his part is rather small. Paul Rudd probably pretends that this doesn’t exist. I thought this was a bit better than part 5 but it's not saying much.

Worst one? Yes. The Curse of Mike Myers is rough, heavily due to its horrid pacing. When the movie ended, I just said, "That's it? That's all?" This movie seems to have almost no gravity in this franchise and thank god for that because the decisions about Mike's motivations and identity are awful. He was better as a vengeful sibling. This was the one to mess up the franchise, and I hope these next few films will do a little course correction, though I'm not betting.

There is an old saying: less is more. That applies well to the Halloween series. Michael Myers was terrifying when we knew nothing about him. But the sequels showed us more of him, lessening his impact. With this movie, he is given a complete and atrocious backstory, which ruins the film. As if that weren't enough, the film dealt with problems in production, and it shows in the final product. The Curse of Michael Myers is a mess of disjointed scenes, terrible story, and no suspense or atmosphere

Worst of the Michael Myers films but still (just about) better than '3'. There were way too many new characters introduced with many serving no purpose throughout. (What was the point of the blonde kid?) With so many pointless characters the tension is non existent, and then even the kills are dull so this is really a waste of space. Pleasance seems understandably frail and it's possible he wasn't physically able to shoot a more dramatic ending than the pathetic one they ultimately used.

There is more about druids in this film than all of the other Halloween films put together. There is a "producer's cut" that is longer and makes more "sense" and has even more about druids. At least in this one Michael gets to finally enact his previously sublimated desire to commit incest. So there's that. Halloween 6, the one where Michael fucks his niece.

A very interesting failure. I find the Druid plot much more compelling than most fans of the series but with all the new villians and storylines, it just comes off as a big mess. The editing is horribly choppy, amateurish and confusing and Michael doesn't feel like much of a presence at all. The producers cut is still flawed (that ending ugh) but MUCH better. Haddonfield feels truly eerie which is something the series hasn't felt since the original. I'd give the producer cut a 62.

As good as Pleasance is, and as much as I was amused by the presence of Paul Rudd, this movie is a mess. It tries to explain the origins of Michael through a whole bunch of mumbo jumbo about a cult or something, but it's too muddled and poorly done to work on any level.

While early scenes promise a return to "Loony Loomis" form with Pleasance looking haggard but still vital, this quickly devolves into a monotonous slog which can't even muster up a good payoff for its slasher scenes (was hoping for something more interesting in the jammed washing machine!) Overly complicates Myers' origin story in unnecessary ways - he's an unstoppable "Terminator" and that should be enough. Scrapes by into my 50s rankings purely as tribute to Pleasence, who deserved better.

I don't know if Myers really needed an origins story or all this lore to explain him. Having the dude just slow-walk to you with a knife in his hand or being visible in a random flash of lightning was enough for me. The biggest issue with this movie is that it's just all over the place, but the bad acting is super funny and it kept me mostly entertained, but it did still drag on in places. A very messy piece of the Halloween franchise.

This is bad. It reveals a desperation for new entries in the saga but no imaginative (or sensible) plot to go with it, as well as an increasing penchant for silly jump scares and predictability. The acting is fairly mediocre, the score too peripheral and the characters bland (Loomis included as he's herein reduced to mere filler). It's not only minimally scary, it can also prove unintentionally funny a tad too often. Oh and the potentially worthwhile mystery of the Man in Black was gibberish.

At first I couldn't believe why people rated this movie so low, later I noticed there are two version theatrical and producers cut. It looks like they are two different movies. And just watch PRODUCER'S CUT. Despite not being a super strong story it does a good job explaining the background and motivation of Michael Myers. Also this movie might have the best use of score in comparison the previous episodes, even including the first movie.

Theatrical cut. It's an immediately noticeable visual upgrade from 5, and as a whole it seems more earnest as well, like everyone involved really wanted it to be good. Unfortunately, mainstream horror shit itself in the 90s and early 00s, and it suffers from a lot of the same poor styling as such 'classics' as I Know What You Did Last Summer, Final Destination, and Saw.

It feels as if it was dumped out into cinemas back in 1995, and from what I've heard about its production, its clearly been messed around with, leading to druid mythology for Michael Myers which makes little sense in the film and was quickly aborted in the next sequel, and little to take interest in. I want to watch the rest of the sequels first, but this deserves to be buried, with only the morbidly curious allowed to view it.

No surprise the franchise never went forward with this storyline. Bloated as hell, with scraps that seem to belong to other movies -- this is explained by the many reported reshoots that were made after poor test audiences. So, Jamie was raped by a cult, gave birth to a baby who's bound to be sacrificed by Myers as part of an ancient curse and the boy who Laurie took care on 1978 appears to have his revenge. Nothing makes pretty much sense, despite some nice gore here and there.

It just reeks of pointlessness and flop sweat. "V" was already so goddamned awful they should have thrown in the towel. The whole series is steady diminishing returns and here we take a steep jump down into amateur material. Not just a bad movie but its even directed poorly for a slasher. Minutes or hours are glossed over with two lines of dialogue: "i think we were drugged" .. "'we were" .. One of the worst movie moments I've ever seen...including my love of trash..still i was satisfied by the violent parts. Love Paul rudd now but its amazing he got work after how he performed in this

Halloween 6 has no fucking clue what it wants to be about, but at least it goes absolutely bonkers and murderous as fast as it can. There are some legitimately good scenes scattered around, like when Paul Rudd (who is adorable and whom I love) is jumped by a random crazy lady in the asylum and it's like he's literally stepped into hell, or the sequence of Myers murdering all the doctors that plays like a slasher killing a whole room of people should: flashes of terrifying disjointed violence.

****Review of the Producer's Cut**** The overtly strange performances and hilariously out-there treatment of the franchise mythology equals out to an enjoyable and highly flawed horror flick. In the end its reach far extends its grasp and it will do nothing but confuse and turn off fans of the original film. For those looking for a hilarious good time, This sixth Halloween night does the job just fine.

Congratulations Halloween 6. You've given me a Paul Rudd movie that I hate. The whole druid plotline is just so ridiculous and unnecessary...not to mention uninteresting with the added side-effect of DETRACTING from all the movies that came before it. Myers is much scarier as an expression-less engine of evil who kills, well, just because. Rob Zombie doesn't think so (another review for another day), but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. There was just no need for this.
