Han Gong-ju

Carried by a wonderful perfomance from Chun-woo Hee, "Han Gong-ju" easily becomes the best 2014 film from South-Korea.

01 Juny 2016 - Curiós, la manera d'explicar la història desconcerta una mica, no sé ben bé de què tracta a estones o què li passa a la gent, diversos personatges que no sé quin paper tenen. Això la fa rica, no són caricatures simples, excepte els "dolents", que m'ha decebut que fossin tan típics. Però m'ha agradat que no s'ensenyessin les situacions del tot, això m'ha fet pensar algun moment en "Upstream Color".

Starts slow, but the plot comes together powerfully and makes it worth watching.

Not for everyone; it's deliberately paced, tonally muted and concerns itself for the most part with characters that range from unlikable to sociopathic. And the subject matter is black as pitch, and relentlessly so. Structurally it's interesting, and Chun Woo-hee delivers a brilliant and haunting performance, but whatever kind of mood you're in this will only make it worse.
