Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid

This version is much closer to the original story than the Disney version and it would seem Disney borrowed some elements from this version. The animation is decent for the time and the original Japanese version sounds nice but bot Marina and the Prince are really really bland and have no personality. Nothing great but worth a watch.

This is nothing extraordinary, just a pretty basic children's animated story that is well done. That is not so interesting for me, so found it a little dull.

Marina is much hotter than Ariel (hell, even the sea witch is). Besides, this version is less cheesy. It's very racist toward cats and wolves though.
