Harry and Walter Go to New York

As failures go, it's an interesting one: there's lavish period detail, a fine cast (though not at their best), and enough flashes of vision to suggest there was something more here at one point, but that something was lost, perhaps through rewrites or recutting. Many supporting roles are mere ciphers, the pacing is off throughout, and the whole is far less than the sum of its parts. So much of it falls flat as to suggest it never could have been very good, but it's a curious mess nonetheless.

Gould and Caan sound like a great pair and with Kane and Keaton backing them up, I was legitimately excited to watch this movie, but for some reason it forgot to throw in any laughs and I can honestly say that it was the biggest let down I've had in a while.

Very forgettable. I even forgot the name of the movie at the end. The movie falls off the rails after they get out of prison. The song was very repetitive. Michael Caine plays a great gentleman criminal and Diane Keaton gives a great performance, but the leads were like a boring Laurel and Hardy. Fav scene: Keaton's fiery speech about stealing for the poor.
