the director of this film has come to my uni on some award or other, so he is showing us his first two features. this one is a crime movie in which the initial incident is set off by some barely visible familial strife, and the following scenes feature interesting psychological exploration, despite also containing an overload of overblown cinematic trickery; perhaps reza was trying too hard to impress the critical establishment for his debut.
