An utterly fascinating war movie. A look at World War II from the Japanese point-of-view. There are no lead characters, added romance or any other distractions. The film does a slow build, going through cadet training, adding anything distinctively Japanese into it. Which all leads up to the main event. The "heroic" bombing of Pearl Harbor! Vulgarly appreciated. Not the bombing, of course. But to understand the propaganda at play in such a shameless manner.
