Jack's in a rut. Depression and severe anti-social behavior has whittled down his existence to sleeping and watching television. Seeing the human race as little more than meat with a pulse, Jack has no interest to bond with anyone. There's little purpose for him to make friends with someone he'd eventually eat or outlive by more than a millennia. The fuse is lit when Jack's past comes back to rattle him. (imdb)

A highly enjoyable independent movie with a minimal budget. The only real problem with this one is the lack of exploration of Jack's backstory, while it's partally alluded to, the movie also hints that he's had thousands of years of stories to tell that might be just as, or more interesting than anything in this movie. That's why I truly do hope this is picked back up for a series.

Henry Rollins delivers a performance that truly resonates. This is exactly how I envision I would carry myself if I were a millennia-old biblical/vampirical bioweapon who just learned he had a daughter. Not to say that I'm *not* a millennia-old biblical/vampirical bioweapon with a daughter I just learned of (I'm not, by the way), just that recently I find myself relating with millennia-old biblical/vampirical bioweapons more than I did, say, ten years ago.

Quirky, funny and violent Indie Canadian flick starring Henry Rollins as an ancient, immortal cannibal with a penchant for bingo who gets sucked into a dispute with local mobsters. While the plot is merely serviceable, and the ending deeply unsatisfying, Rollins absolutely owns the screen throughout with his weary ennui and priceless deadpan reactions to the events taking place around him. Henry Rollins is a comedic treasure, I wish he was given leading roles in films more often.

Laugh-out-loud funny on numerous occasions, and it was good fun seeing the questions pile up as the story progressed. The acting in the final scene of the film is noticeably more B-movieesque than the rest of it, which takes it down just a peg. Great ride, though.

Pretty funny, commendable micro budget indie thingy. The second best Henry Rollins performance after that live album where he introduces the Black Flag members by the size of their, well, members. KIRA GOT THE TEN-AND-A-HALF! KIRA GOT THE TEN-AND-A-HALF! Kira eventually won an Oscar, bet you didn't know that.

I liked it a lot. Sure, the writing was borderline cringy at times, and the cinematography reeked of amateurism now and then, but I just liked the general tone of the movie, the acting by the main character, and the way the plot is built up. I can't even remember how I found this movie, but I'm sure glad I did, it made my day.

Henry Rollins is one of those guys who just gets better looking as he ages. The grey hair & deepening scowl lines suit him. This was also the absolutely perfect role for him.

The redemption of a far traveled anti-hero. Rollin's was a great choice for this...

Henry Rollins is a grumpy, avenging, cannibalistic archangel (or something) who enjoys playing bingo and has just discovered he's got a grown daughter he never knew about. Then some bad guys kidnap that grown daughter. And it turns out that wasn't the greatest idea. This movie gives you exactly what you suspect (and nothing more) and that's sort of awesome.

Tried a little too hard to be mysterious when the plot is a pretty clear cut. It was enjoyable for a one time romp of violence.

Entertaining enough for what it was. Took a while to get going, but that's really because it took a bit to figure out what the movie - and particularly Jack's character - was all about. After that it was enjoyable enough, although they dug themselves a bit of a hole when it came to creating tension due to the nature of Jack's abilities. I'm glad they didn't draw it out a minute longer.

I liked the tone of this one, but they weren't great at pulling us in the story. Jack's distance to everything is understandable but some scenes just hung there to no conclusion. Although I enjoyed it it could've benefitted bettr direction and a cleaner edit. His 'sobriety' and many other aspects didnst come through unless being talked about.

Henry Rollins as Biblical age Kain in modern times killing bastards.... because He Never Died (2015) and low life can't kill him. Cool, but not really the kind of thing that I go gaga for. Was a lot easier to enjoy then expected.

A bit of gruesomeness. A bit of humor. And this set in an original storyline. A surprising discovery at the end of the year. My opinion here : http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.be/2015/12/he-never-died-2015.html

The final scene in the bar needed a rewrite, but this was surprisingly entertaining. Basically a supernatural Matt Scudder film.

An interesting and intriguing spin on the old "loner with a past" narrative; skirting spoilers, but I wonder if casting a more recognisable genre face might have given this a little more impact ala UNFORGIVEN? Rollins' uniquely vibrant and droll screen presence is still very welcome and makes the film worth watching, carrying the film through the disappointingly rote third act, and compensating for some weaknesses in the supporting cast.

An odd yet oddly engrossing film. The film never really tells you what it is and that's a good thing because anything they came up with would've only diminished it.

Does Krawczyk pay homage to David Lynch with He Never Died, or would this just be the result is Lynch was more coherent. The film is an oddity that allows Rollins to deliver an interesting performance to an interesting premise, throwing a touch of humour into the mix, all the while still being a little dull.

I expected a trashy B movie. Sort of a guilty pleasure. So as such, every minute was a pleasant surprise due to decent plot, acting and production values. Westerns cultivated the character of the apathic omnipotent hero. Here it comes to an extreme. The reason for the extreme apathy of the guy is really out of the box. Best viewed as a mythical story.

A dysfunctional, anti-social, immortal tries to mind his own business but is lured into violence by local mobsters. A mostly humorous take on a semi-vampire with equal parts horror and dry humor. Consistent deadpan delivery. The character shows respect for decency and disdain for bad behavior. Gory and violent. Despite horrific events you'll find yourself respecting his plight. A few laugh out loud moments. Worth watching, but not for those who wither at the site of blood or violence.

If you want a stock standard action movie, but want a little horror for Halloween, sure it will work. But ultimately, it felt like an OK movie with alright characters, and a boring, not comedic, non-horrorifying plot.
