For a period Tom Brown was pretty much typecast in cadet movies and Hello, Annapolis (1942) is another one. Follows the standard idea of a cocky kid who gets frozen out by the others and redeems himself in the end. Feels like I've seen this type of thing many times over, and I probable have.
