It perfectly captures what a Hellraiser sequel should be, not some over thought pleasure think tank piece of Doug Bradley monologues but ... it’s acted out by the worst actors in history and looks like porn.

Rewatch. If we were to build an engine based purely on convoluted ludicrous happenstance, this movie could fuel it for a century.

Better than Hellworld, but the loss of Doug Bradley dropped this considerably. Had the potential to be decent if time and money were invested in this film.

At LEAST you can say that this movie feels like it was planned as a Hellraiser movie from the start. More than you can say about the last five sequels or so. And you can at LEAST say Pinhead, as a character, is more or less back to his original motivation, not trying to take over the world or some shit. But that's about where the positive qualities end.

What I'll say in defense of Revelations is that its more akin to its source material then say Deader, or Hellworld. Granted, this is still horrible. The acting is some of the worst in the franchise, and Doug Bradley being replaced by Baby-eyes is a horrible decision. It would be one of the worst if it wasn't for the attempt.

The decline of the Hellraiser series continues, this time the movie is only an afterthought to a pathetic attempt keep the rights for an upcoming revival. For being made in a brisk attempt to extend the rights to the franchise and with a paltry budget, I was impressed at it's quality of horror. This movie may be far better than it's price tag would suggest, but it's still stands out like a sore thumb as the worst in the series.

Presumably all the hate directed at this is because the new Pinhead looks noticeably different from Bradley's version because otherwise this is one of the best installments. Yes, the rules of the box are changed (aren't they always?) & there's an unnecessarily huge plothole in it (if Nico's such a sociopath we should've seen hints of it earlier), but this is actually a Hellraiser movie (not a spec script w/ Pinhead added): there's normality hiding dark desire & even bigger mix of violence & kink

For an ashcan copy, it's actually not that bad. The acting is on par with Lifetime movies, but it's fun to watch this as if it were a sweded Hellraiser film.

I think I like this better than Hellraiser III, & considering this doesn't have Bradley as Pinhead & was allegedly shot in 2 weeks for $300,000, that's something. Then again I'm probably being very lenient because of that. All the sequels after Hell on Earth are liquid shit I can hardly recall watching, & I want to say Revelations is an improvement, but it probably isn't, I was probably just in a particularly accommodating mood when watching it.

Rubbish. No matter how bad the previous movies were you could always rely on Doug Bradley to lend an air of ceremony. Now even that is gone. File under Franchise>>Final Coffin Nail

Revelations is easily the worst Hellraiser film in the series, and that's quite an accomplishment given how steeply this franchise has declined since Dimension took over. It's cheap and atrociously made with a pointless found footage gimmick that's pure padding. The performances are terrible and the effects are subpar. Collins is an abysmal replacement for Bradley (he looks _and_ sounds wrong) and Eversman stinks up the screen as a deranged kid with a murderous motivation that's laughably 90's.

went into it with really low expectaions so it surprised me by being better than hellraisers 4-8. More gore and way less boring. Still a very flawed movie but a step in the right direction.

This is just a bad horror movie wearing the Hellraiser motif like a mask.

The worst Hellraiser movie, which considering that the entire franchise after the first two is godawful is saying something. Revelations might actually be the worst "mainstream" horror film of all time.

The first thing I noticed about this movie was that the camera work was complete shit. The script feels like a first draft and there are a lot of unanswered questions, like why are there multiple Pinheads, why is Pinhead spying on the two families, and what was wrong with the two friends? Also, the dialogue, acting, and editing are completely terrible. The movie is low-budget and I could overlook the cheap look but what was harder to overlook was the pure stupidity of the whole thing.

Some good (and many bad) ideas are here but they're bungled in every respect and at every turn. The new Pinhead(s?) suck. But at least it's kinetic and coherent, unlike most of the other direct-to-video Hellraiser sequels.

Awful. The only thing in its favour is that it at least tries to be a Hellraiser movie, but it's so cheap, dull, and ugly that you can't even enjoy it as a bad movie. At least it's short.

There’s not a TON to praise about Revelations by any means, but the fact that this was the first script in the Hellraiser saga since the ‘90s to be originally written to be a Hellraiser film…that should be taken under consideration. It was cool to see the main plot of a zombified person come back to life after doing other things with the series for so long. But this movie is also bland because it really doesn’t offer the audience….anything.
