15-year-old Penelope (Penny) Wood has two great interests - Chuck Harris and the hope that some day she might become a famous,great writer. Chuck also has two interests - his home-made glider and the hope that some day he will go to Tech college. His indifference to Penny is her chief source of annoyance. Mervyn Roberts, Penny's uncle who is only five years older than she is, arrives home with a guest, Roger Van Vleck, and Penny falls for Roger's sophistication.

Jane Withers & Jackie Cooper were actually a pretty suitable together. Two awkward teens, not really fitting the Hollywood mold, but had an audience since they were younger. I don't think they ever did another movie together, which is a shame. Could have been that the reception for this movie wasn't good, for the material was really really light and unimpressive. Really clean and safe romantics. That it was as pleasant as it was is purely credited to the two leads.
