A WWII tale of romance that begins during New Orlean's "Mardi Gras" celebration when a soldier and a girl meet and fall in love. He asks her to marry him but she decides to wait until his next leave. Edgar G. Ulmer and his partners in PRC tried hard with the women's picture Her Sister's Secret (1946). They stepped away from their usual rough production ways and actually gave this some love and care. However, there is also a sense of trying too hard manipulating the mood with the music and such, instead of going deeper in the cinematic expressions. It's certainly of higher prestige for the small studio, but for me it didn't capture the emotion 100% and I never truly fell in love with it.
