There's no great flair here, but the strangeness of the entire thing makes up for that. It's quite funny in a "what the heck?!" kind of way.

Fatty is a schmuck but at least Buster was good for the little we saw him. Plus there were one or two other fun gags.

Again some good pratfalls but too stupid to really like. I certainly clenched up when that black lady appeared but thankfully it wasn't too bad.

Much like "The Butcher Boy," only this time Fatty mans the ice-cream counter at a drug store. Plenty of comic business involving throwing ice cream at people, knocking people out with the free "perfume" sample, etc. Still rough, but a little bit more fun than the last two pictures from this run.

Funny hijinks. Fatty is at his best when he's showing some tricks, such as his awful soda-making at the beginning of this one and his cleaver-handling in Butcher Boy. Other than that, it's up to Keaton and St. John to bring the laughs. No one chokes someone by the neck better than Al, I have to say. Fatty had a couple too many jokes in poor taste in this one.

Buster Keaton is always great, even if he's just standing around in a wedding dress. The rest of this is really awful, however.

When the formula works, stick with it -- so we have the same set-in-a-general-store plot with yet another food fight. Keaton as the kidnapped bride is cute but not riotously funny.

This film marks first Buster Keaton's appearance in a wedding dress ever on screen. Might be the only one as well. Other than that is typical Fatty Rosco film. Gags aren't funny, but it provides some interesting historical context, like prices of gas at the time.
