strange to say about a film containing one of the most banal, anthropological, innocuously graphic rape scenes ever put to celluloid, but it's the mirror dance that disturbs most of all, this vision of a woman searching her body for a self and finding only meat, plastic and glitter. each subsequent development is already there in that terrible void of a shot. (note: avoid the censored amazon version.)

Difficult to watch at times, but Sonne and Yde drew me into the drama that the character of Sascha elects not to recognize whenever she looks at herself inquiringly in the mirror and then tries to reassure herself by putting on a fake smile.

A jarring juxtaposition of the superficial mundanity and the underlying brutality and callousness found in a group of criminals on summer vacation. Definitely heed that opening trigger warning.

watchable

The direction, and portrait of low life gangsters with money, is impressively taut, edgy and horrific.
