You know the old adage--a stopped watch is always right two times a day? Well, there is a lesser-known adage that says two shorts in a horror anthology are always better than the other pieces of shit. This movie proves the latter a lie, as there are no good shorts in Holidays, and that Kevin Smith is slowly showing us all that he makes films about as well as that damned stopped watch tells time.

While not without its weak links, there's a delightful sense of mischief to this anthology overall. Highlights include a genuinely terrifying leprechaun child, the Christ Bunny and satire of the Easter short, and the sense of creeping dread in the Father's Day segment (even if it doesn't really payoff).

Save for the standout New Years Eve short, the rest of this anthology just ranges in different shades of weird and bad. Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and St. Patrick's Day are all super strange with not much helping in quality, while Father's Day and Halloween have a bit of substance to back them up. Overall though, it may only be worth the New Year's Eve short.

I don't think I'd give this a pass because it's so inconsistent, even though I like the idea of anthology films. Valentine's Day was kinda funny, St. Patrick's was kinda boring, Easter was entertaining, Mother's Day was bland, Father's Day was excellent with some real tension until it fell apart at the end, Halloween was unsatisfying and below Smith, Christmas was forgettable and New Year's Eve was the best of the bunch with a fun twist and character. As a collection it doesn't really add up.

A mixed bag, but weirdly interesting. I particularly liked Easter, St. Patrick's Day, and New Year's Eve. Valentine's day, Christmas, and Father's Day were okay. Wasn't feeling Mother's Day or Halloween at all. #Netflix

Low-rent DTV horror junk. Only the last three segments exhibit anything resembling craftsmanship, and they're unfortunately way too short to make any kind of impact. Everything else is as amateurish as they come, excessively busy, and so ill-conceived that it really doesn't need to be seen by anyone, short of diehard Smith completists.

Holidays is what I would describe as a good mixed bag - it is more of a miss but as a whole I had plenty of interest in it. The best shorts for me are Valentine's Day, Easter and New Year's Eve.

This is an interesting anthology film. Some of the stories are more interesting than the other ones in this movie. Overall this film is an enjoyable horror collection.

Lame Christian holiday themed horror anthology. Valentine's Day is crap. St. Patrick's is even worse. Easter is cute actually. Mother's and Father's Days are okay. Halloween and Christmas are cheap and barely relevant to their respective holidays. New Year's is meh.

While I love the idea of anthology films, they almost never pan out as anything good. Whatever happened to the creativity seen in 80's anthology films like Creepshow and Tales From the Darkside? Beyond a few weird as fuck sequences (St. Patrick's Day/Easter) and the almost great Father's Day (save for the lame ending) most of these shorts are forgettable and sigh inducing.

The 'Father's Day' segment is the only stand-out.

I am primed and ready to like horror anthologies. Short segments allow writers to be more inventive. If it doesn't work, who cares, there's a half dozen other features that may. Unfortunately, I found almost all of the collection disappointing. One or two features captured me for a few minutes and another I liked, but that wasn't enough to justify the time.

Pretty much all of 'em are too short.

I'm not expecting horror anthologies to be horrifying, but more than just confusing and mildly annoying would be nice. There are one or two decent segments here - Father's Day and New Years's - but most just feel uninspired and, especially in the case of Kevin "Don't do drugs, kids" Smith's entry, hopelessly inept.
