Fairly dumb sequel in the Home Alone 2 “wow, this really specific scenario happened again” tradition. Really misses Don Ameche’s voice from the first one. Also missing any real moments of genuine threat or tension. Animal training isn’t as sharp either; when the mean “bad guy” dogs are threatening Shadow and Sassy it just looks like pairs of relaxed animals standing across from each other chillin’.

This destroyed my childhood. Shadow was clearly a different dog, and the whole romance aspect of it, from what I remember, completely disgusted me.

Same basic story line as "Lady and the Tramp 2". IMHO, the animated one plays out a little better.

Honestly, as someone who's watching these 25+ years on without nostalgia because of my kids, this isn't much worse than the first.

Well, my kids liked it just as much as the first one, but this sequel is...not great. It has very little of the charm that the first movie had. The human villains were dumb characters and no movie needs a dog love triangle plot. My 9-year-old could tell Shadow was voiced by a different actor.

As cute as the first movie was, it didn't need a shitty sequel. Or any sequel. Ever.

What happened to Shadow? He used to be great and the only watchable aspect of the first film.

The little I remember of this is a boring retread of the original with a pointless love story tacked on.

I almost died between rolling my eyes so far back into my head as to risk an aneurysm and having my chest constrict watching the terrible child actors. This movie is clearly not for me, I'm not big on either kids movies or dog romance (I turned off Lady and the Tramp, thankfully my son was disinterested.) The boy however would give "the talking dog movie" 5 stars, particularly because it has a firetruck in it
