On their honeymoon,a young navy officer and his wife are having difficulties in finding a hotel room in Los Angeles until a lady lends them her suite. There, they receive a mysterious telephone call warning them of a murder that is about to be committed. After finding two dead women they hire two private detectives to help them. They learn that the third woman marked for death is the woman who lent them her hotel suite. (imdb)

Homicide for Three (1948) tries to be this flimsy man & gal detective mystery, à la the Thin Man, but it just doesn't work. To me just about every twist and turn failed or was overly predictable. Plus I wasn't feeling the leads of Warren Douglas & Audrey Long, neither by star-power nor chemistry together. There is a lighthearted feel to it which might make it easier to watch for some, but since nothing really convinced me, I wasn't getting into this much.
