Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is a really fun family movie. All the kids in the movie were enjoyable. I serves as a reminder of the time when childhood teams would saturate the market. Movies such as Goonies, Monster Squad, and Stand By Me are all of the time. While this movie might not have the same fame as some of the others i is still a well thought out movie, with humor and heart. Even the efects wok out well.

Just plain bad. Bad special effects, bad plot, bad characters, bad, bad, bad, bad.

I must have watched this movie a million times as a kid. I love it. It's crazy and funny.

Great movie, wish they would make more like this now.

One of the best Disney comic fantasies in years. An entertaining reworking of the classic _Fantastic Voyage_ for a modern youth audience (originally to be called _The Teeny-Weenies_ and to be directed by _Re-Animator_ man Gordon), with fine stop-motion FX by Phil Tippet and Dave Allen depicting various enlarged denizens of the kids' backyard, and a few interestingly harsh touches for a Disney flick (including the heroic death of the kids' giant ant protector).

At times, it's clever & makes full use of its very late-80's premise. At other times, it feels like a Made for TV movie. Featuring solid performances all around, plenty of zany antics and a half-baked romance subplot that really doesn't need to exist, it's a very mixed bag in terms of story and character development. Overall, though, it manages to be enjoyable for what it is & delivers enough good moments to be worth a watch.

How the fuck did they not die?

Just a classic. You love it or you hate it. You can't, however, deny that it is iconic.

Probably born during entertainment media's most genuinely creative time period, this film had the makings of everything perfect for a well-rounded and enjoyable watch. I only take points off for its diminishing appreciation thanks to its sequels and the aged technology involved.

Special effects that really withstand the test of time. Just kidding.
