This kept triggering deja vu so I must have watched it when I was younger and completely forgot. SJP was quite attractive here so it's a shame that she's had bad work done since. Caan was so good it's too bad he was evil, as the film keeps pointing out with brutal demonstrations. The plot was silly and mostly served to kill time, but the different scenery was a sight. Morita was a nice side character. Cage was okay. Mother backstory was pointless. Fav scene: skydiving at the end was memorable.

The unconventionally pretty -but attractive- SJP and unconventionally handsome -but attractive- Nic Cage in an unconventional -but fun- rom-com.

I got this for free with a Pizza Hut pizza. What the fuck? I'd rather have gotten some free breadsticks or something. Fucking pizza places, man. Plus they were like half an hour late too on that shit and the pepperoni was too greasy, and they didn't bring me Coke like I asked. I got Sprite. Fucking Sprite! So I called them up and...

This movie has an absurd premise. The script is unbelievable and has many weak moments. The actors try their best with the material but not everything works. There are some amusing moments like the skydiving scene for example. Overall this is a below average romantic comedy.

Again, incredibly silly, wonderfully acted, timing impeccably drawn out by the director, Vegas, Hawaii, an Elvis-inspired soundtrack, and Flying Elvises! Come on!

Viewed September 30, 2021. A fanciful premise, to be sure, but one that lends itself to plenty of nicely observed, somewhat surreal gags (including a climactic sequence that features skydiving Elvises) and great performances. Cage is in total pressure cooker mode, and watching him do his thing around and within a more conventional romcom structure is endlessly hilarious.

I hate all the characters in this movie, the story itself was very shitty and unfunny. There were one or two mildly humorous moments but mostly this was complete trash.

A nice, light comedy with a fine performance by Caan and a heckuva lot of Elvi. Cage and Parker are cute together.

Another laughless, paceless "comedy" that's shot like a sitcom. NEXT!

A slightly unhinged Cage stumbles through what is one of the most nonsensical plots in all of Hollywood. Absolutely baffling!

Bar the final Flying Elvis sequence and Nicolas Cage when he gets to shouting his lines, this is a pretty tedious.

Caan is the only good thing about this movie!

The Flying Elvises are amazing. I wasn't expecting anything of substance, so this was a lot of fun. Cage gets to go crazy enough and a lot of the smaller parts are great.

Only for the little Bruno Mars cameo...and the fact that Cage screams the last word in all of his sentences is this watchable...otherwise, it's so terrible.

On the one hand the story is kind of terrible and not without its share of questionable elements, but on the other hand Nicolas Cage is very entertainingly manic for most of the film and I had a very fun time?

Nicolas Cage does some good movies, but sometimes I feel shame for him.
